Ansten works with sculpture, film, relational art & performance in a symbiosis of biology, craft traditions and innovation. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and Nature Management from Bø University College, he moved to Northern Norway and is now based in Tromsø. Collection and processing of organic material from harvesting and catching is central to his work where Ansten explores aspects of our relation to nature and the resource base.
